DMP and new bank accounts?

Hi all!I hope everyone is well!I am currently setting up a DMP with CCCS and I have opened another bank account with Allience & leicester - and i have 2 questions!1. Does anybody know if they are connected to Lloyds, Egg, MBNA or vanquis? im worried they will just recover money from my new account!!2. My new account is a normal account with debit card - is this allowed on a DMP or does it have to be a basic account??thanks sooo much!!:-)

Hi, sorry can't answer the linked banks question but...

I am on a DMP with CCCS and you don't have to have a basic account - as long as you do not have overdraft facilities.

With my A&L premier account I specifically requested £0 overdraft - as the DMP agreement says I will not take any more credit ;)

All is fine and am on month 3 :D

Yes I just wish I'd contacted CCCS sooner

So far one has reduced interest to a third of what it was, one has stopped interest, the the third (who I have a loan and a CC with) have ignored me completely and just issued a default!!

But my recent credit report shows they have actually marked the loan down as "under arrangement" and listed my DMP payment amount so they must have accepted ;)

Just got that last one to sort - apparently someone else on here had them ignore everything but then suddenly stop interest after 4 months or so - am hoping for that ;)

wow thats promising! Im hoping not too have too much hassle - my phone has been rining constantly since DDs cancelled (up until now i have never missed a payment) but i have just had a really nice secure message from Egg saying they are willing to work with CCCS etc so i just need to get CCCS to send out the proposals and start my new life as a DFW!!

The total debt did go up a bit while they were agreeing the payments as two of them would only reduce or stop interest a few weeks after my first payment (which with CCCS is 25th of the month).

Phone calls have stopped and letters have mostly stopped now.

I've only got the one charging full interest still - unfortunately that means it's going up but the rest are now coming down by more than that.

My total debt would never have reduced without help from CCCS so even with that one account increasing at the moment, at lease I know the others will be reducing ;)

thank you so much for your valuable help and info!! it has out me at ease! I will call CCCS to check that the A&L account i have is not linked with my creditors! The last thing i want is for them to help themselves!!!What happens with things like any overtime worked or bonus? do you declare these and hand over to CCCS?

Hi Lulu, just been reading your post and wondered what luck you had with CCCS as i too have opened with A&L & the same creditors as you so would be interested in how you got on. I too am in the process of setting up a DMP with CCCS already had an email from Egg wondering why my dd has been stopped. I havent replied yet wasnt sure what i should do. Now waiting for the phone calls to start too havent sent letters out to my banks yet either as i wanted to make sure my wages have gone to my new bank first. All a bit scary isn't it but good to be in a bit more control for a change!

Hi Sira - just read your message, its good to know that someone else is doing the same thing and with same creditors! here is me so far - got my reference number for CCCS and am just about to send them back all my creditor info so they can write to them.I cancelled all my DDs - and the phone rang every day from creditors! so i sent the "notification of DMP" template (from CCCS) to creditors with a token payment for £2 and i have had a really nice secure message from Egg saying they are sorry to her i am having difficulties and are pleased to hear i am working with CCCs and they will wait to hear from them with a proposal and they will hold of for 28 whilst they wait, they have also been the first to cash my token payment cheque! so thats good!I am praying and have everything crossed that my wages go into my new account this Friday! :-) im also hoping no other banks are related to A&L and steal any money from this account!Since i sent the notificaiton the phone calls have stopped!!!it may be a different matter when they receive proposals from CCCS but we will see! What stage are you at? if you want to email me feel free! ladymovin@yahoo.comHave a nice day!
