Tempur pillows

I've had a traditional style Tempur pillow for years, I really like it.
But I often wish it had more neck support.
Has anyone got the classic wavy shaped Tempur pillow?
I was thinking of getting a medium queen, as the queens are longer like normal pillows & will look better in the pillow case.
Medium I guess as I'm female.
They are £80.
Has anyone got one of the wavy ones?
What do you think of it?
Did it take a long time to get used to it?

Have to admit I got one several years ago after being advised to by a chiropractor. It is still like new as I gave up with it, though I am sure there are many with positive experiences.0

We have the Classic Comfort style Tempur pillows at home on our bed and love them.
Years ago, I bought one of the travel pillows in the wavy Ergonomic format. I had to ditch it in the end as it actually made my neck worse, despite me carefully positioning my head as you are told to do so. My physiotherapist told me that it was causing me problems too.
So I replaced it with the travel Comfort pillow and have been delighted with that - no more neck pain!
Obviously, everyone's needs and problems are different, so what may suit one person may not necessarily suit another, but do be careful with the wavy ones! Mine felt fine at first and it took a few nights of sleeping on it for the pain to really kick in.0 -
I don't think you can beat the original Tempur pillows compared to the 'look a likes.' Indeed it is a case of what suits. I prefer the standard type without the curve, but hubby prefers it with. I have bought mine off Gumtree or Ebay when folk have tried them just a few times, or even brand new. My husband's Tempur pillow was purchased about 2-3 months ago off Gumtree for £25 including courier. Only thing wrong with it (as advertised) was a 'dusty,' box. I was looking for the dust and couldn't find it at all :-). Hope you find what you want at the right price.0

We have had the same one now for more than 10 yrs. Its still like new, the covers get washed regularly and when its icy cold outside. I put it outside to air. (probably makes no difference but makes me feel better!)
We have the shaped one but actually use it upside down!! (The larger shaped piece at the top rather than the smaller as recommended)
I find this much more comfortable.
Apart from Tempur we have tried a couple of cheaper alternatives but haven't liked them, until last year when we bought new ones from Costco, I can't remember the make, but they are the same size as a traditional pillow but with a slight 'moon shape' cut out at the bottom. These have proved just as comfortable as the Tempur, but only cost about £29 each.0 -
Still more than my £25 burnsguitarman:D I shall bear it in mind though for the costco ones. Saying that, don't you have to be a tradesperson to join the same as at macro?0

Mine feels great going to bed.
But in the morning I often think it's too flat at the neck & lacking support.0 -
I'm using the freebie Tempur pillow given away a while back for taking a trial (found on this site
). I do find it isn't high enough for my neck also, but love the cushion feel on my head so just use normal pillows below it to give it some height. I've not found it a problem to do this- just wish the freebie pillow was wider!

I tried the tempur pillows when I bought my memory foam pillow but didn't find them comfortable, I sleep on my side and found them too shallow to provide sufficient neck support. I settled for a Putnams memory foam pillow, it was cheaper than the Tempur and it has to be one of the best purchases I have made. Over 6 years down the line and the pillow is like new :-)0

We are all so different aren't we? I tried the Putnams (not sure if it was memory foam though, think it had a recess in the middle), and after all the good reviews of the name I found it far too hard. I had paid a lot for it and was very disappointed, couldn't sell it and ended up giving it away to a charity shop. Was so annoyed as I could ill afford the cost. Never mind, I got what I wanted in the end.0

Indeed we are Capyboppy. I was lucky that there were a couple of shops specialising in back pain/posture products and I was able to take my own pillowcase and try all the pillows they had on a proper bed. This is something I would not buy online, if I could avoid it, as I would have probably gone for the Tempur one because of the high brand profile and that would have been a costly mistake in my case.0
