How to get the Currys Hotpoint trade in discount

I bought a washing machine from the Currys Chippenham store this morning. Store assistant told me to visit the Hotpoint website to apply for the advertised £100 trade in discount. There was nothing on the Hotpoint website apart from a deal that expired in April 
Couldn't get through to Hotpoint customer assistance. Then tried Currys customer assistance. After much discussion I was told the trade in discount could only be applied online (enter TRADE100 at checkout). Had to go back to the store to cancel the order and get a refund, then buy online. Bonus was that next day delivery is free online - costs £22 when you buy instore
