CCJ Question

Hi everyone,
I am hoping someone can help me please!
I have recieved a CCJ from an old Welcome Loan I had. I have been ordered to pay £55 a month. The debt is around £3500.
I can't afford that in all honesty, but if I want to get that changed I have to apply to the court and pay a fee of £50.
But this debt doesn't appear on my credit report anymore. So I would assume is is Statute Barred now? Would i be able to contest the CCJ on this reason, or as the court has already decided I am liable for it, it is an arguement I won't win?
Your thoughts are appreciated

What was your original defence when you first received the claim from the court ?0

I didn't put a defence in. I only got the letter saying it was going to court the day it went. So too late

Hello there,
You may be able to apply to have the judgment 'set aside'. There is a distinct procedure that you must follow. To consider taking this action you must be sure that the debt is statute barred.
Do you know when the last payment or written acknowledement of the debt was?

I think my last payment was about 2 and a half years ago. So that means it isn't statute barred? It is a debt collector now rather than welcome (who i paid). So i think i can't contest it then?0

Hi there,
It may still be possible to contest, but there will need to be a clear six year gap at some point. Do you knows if this is the case?

There isn't. I know I was paying it fine. Then I couldn't so there was a break, but it wouldn't have been 6 years. Then I restarted after they chased me. Then I stopped again, around 2 and a half years ago as my income reduced.
I have no details of it that I can find so I can't even remember how much it was for!0
