Second Hand Dishwashers

Options
In the market for a new dishwasher and wondering whether to go second hand or not.

I've noticed a 6 year old Bosch Exxel slimline on gumtree for £50. Do you think that is a reasonable deal? How many years left does it have in it?

How long is a piece of string?
  • I'm asking about a specific product though on the off chance that people have experience with it. You make it sound like I've asked how long ANY washing machine will last...

If you can see it working and water gets hot and drains out i would risk it for £50.
Have you looked on ebay and searched in your area for a Miele?

Not that you would want a dishwasher that lasts for 20 years.

    Why?

Because in half that time, the technology advances would far outweigh the cost of running an older dishwasher. There's many dishwashers now that use less than one bowl of hot water; ten years ago they didn't exist.

    A new dishwasher may cost £300, if it lasts ten years that's £30 a year / 57p a week / 8p a day.

What rubbish! The same you said about buying Miele vacuum cleaners. My Miele Dishwasher is over 20 years and does the same that new dishwashers does...It washes. Miele vacuum cleaner is probably over 10 year and does the same as a new one...Its sucks. My Miele washing machine is over 20 years no rust never broke down and there is a setting where u can use less water.
All the new machines are digital and are unreliable.
