Mortgage Decision Appeals

Anyone have any experience of this?!
We were declined by Santander, but MA in branch said she would appeal. It came back from first stage of appeal saying it could go to second stage. (Final stage) it is now at second stage and we are waiting.
Has anyone done this? Were there any positive outcomes?
Thanks

I have just had the same thing with Santander (yesterday) and the MA said I should appeal - I appealed with a slight reduction in borrowing amount and a promise to pay off a car HP agreement in full so as to reduce my monthly commitments and I am now awaiting a response.
Did you appeal with the same amount and term as orginally applied for? And how long did your appeal take?
I would be interested to hear about your experience and the outcome when you get it.0 -

What's the issue that caused the decline?0 -
We went to 1st meeting with santander, did ID, pay slips, accounts etc, then credit check, everything all fine. Went for 2nd appt to finalise everything and it was after 25th July when office of national statistics raised average national expenditure levels by £350 a month. So when we did final part we got declined on affordability, even though our total outgoings have only risen by £20 per month!
Now waiting.0 -

That was prior to an underwriter's review though. Front line staff on the whole do little more than process to a prescribed format.0 -

That was whilst we were sat in office and she hit the submit button. Not even gone to an underwriter, as affordability by calculations on submitting I guess. ;-(0
