I sometimes send letters to a Tim Morrow. I can't help singing Tomorrow from Annie every bloomin' time I see it. Drives me nuts as that song's like a rat down a drain and stays in my head all day.

This thread seems to have detoured slightly, but I for one am enjoying them lol :)

  • Yes it's swayed off my original question but I got the answer to that and these names are amusing so I don't mind enjoying them!

My parent's are named Richard & Judy......when the real R&J were on this morning and in their prime my mum had endless trouble when ringing up places to book stuff (holidays/hotels etc)

I think names can sometimes make a difference. My neighbour is called Myra and her husband has the surname Hindley. I have taken several parcels in for Moira but noticed she was never addressed as Myra Hindley but used her maiden surname instead. I once asked her about this and she said she was scared to change her surname to Hindley when she married in case she received abuse from people thinking she was the moors murderer Myra Hindley! She also enters competitions and says she believed 'Myra Hindley' would be an unlucky name to have!

I have seen a Kate Middleton win on Facebook before and a Sam Bailey (obviously not the famous Kate and Sam though!)

Talking of names, I used to teach and I had a little girl in my class called Crystal Clear! I will never forget that little girl because of her name!

    Im the sam bailey ;)

  • I remeber my grandmother went to a chiropodist called Mr Sillitoe. Always made us laugh.

As a child we had a neighbour whose maiden name was Lily Pickles and of course she was always known as Piccalilli

Both my married name and my maiden name are names of famous actresses so when I do a google search I get thousands of results. This is why I appreciate it when people tag or mention you as a winner - not that it happens to me but I live in hope.

A boy in my class at school was called Christopher Bacon, his middle name was Peter. We found it very funny that his name was Chris P Bacon, lots of "Where's your frying pan", I'm sure he must found it hilarious too...

P.S. I grew up in the sticks, there wasn't much going on.
  • My dad is an English teacher and whilst he was reading the applications for a position in his department he came across a "Miss Sonnet" - certainly gave us a smile when he came home and told us!
  • I went to school with a girl called Kyanne Pepper. I don't think we got it until we grew up and started being more adventurous with food though!
Back to comping after a 3-year hiatus :j
  • I knew a teacher called rodger shaw twilley
