Just had PV quote...

Just had a quote tonight for 4kw sys, split over east/west roof - £9k ouch. This was from an advisor(salesman) off the back of the wife being cold called.

Panels - Canadian solar cant recall the invertor (10 year guarantee).

Given I've trimmed our consumption down to 12.5kWh, I'm still undecided whether to progress with PV.

How much is a ball park figure for a 4kw system nowadays.

The chap was throwing figures left right and centre, some sounded unlikely given the location (central Scotland) and informs a break even point of 7/8 years.

I think I'm going to need hand holding throughout this process :)
Don’t be a can’t, be a can.

My parents have recently had a 4kWp E/W split with Canadian solar and a SMA sunnyboy inverter, price for that was £5700 although I've recently seen quotes in the sub £5k area(may not be quite as good a piece of kit)

As for your usage, take a look on here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3853851 You'll find if you read from the back that several members(more so in summer) are getting their daily usage down to 2-3kWhs.
If your serious about solar then maybe post your rough location so that other members could possibly recommend their installers but definitely get more quotes.
As has been mentioned....your initial quote....way too much
