Santander experience via broker

Hi
I have seen there are a lot of bad experiences with santander and thought I would throw in my experience.
16/7 application received
16/7 docs received (3 months payslips and passport/driving licence)
16/7 passed to underwriting
22/7 underwriter agreed
22/7 valuation instructed
24/7 valuation agreed
24/7 application offered
29/7 resubmitted docs as had slightly wrong surname on app (broker error)
29/7 passed to underwriting
4/8 underwriter agreed
4/8 application offered
Now I feel we have done really well! We had to send no bank statements or anything else just payslips and ID. We do not have perfect credit we have a 'good' score rather than excellent and we have debts and a mortgage so not perfect clients either! Just thought I would share to say not all bad

I'm so glad to read this...
We're using a broker who has found us a mortgage with Santander. Our application was submitted today, but I've been Googling and seen some real horror stories!
Apparently a lot of the hold-ups were to do with the MMR, and are gradually getting better. I hope we have the same experience you've had!0 -

When the case is submitted correctly and accurately by a broker, Abbey can be very quick, I had one last week, less than 5 days from App to offer, most of the problems come from brokers/applicants thinking they can beat the system by hiding information or not giving what is asked, you can't, tell them everything and give them what they ask for, and you will have no problems.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
