Hello,

We are in the process of buying a house using the help to buy scheme. We are applying for a mortgage with the leeds building society. It has been 5 weeks since we first applied we have had surveyors out to the new build however the kender has now asked for my partners p45. He has lost his copy of his p45 and this has meant that the application has now gone back to the underwriter. Should I be concerned? My partner was at his previous job 13 years and was made redundant but walked straight into another job on a higher wage. He gas now been at his new job 4 months and has passed probation. We have his final wage slip from his previoua job but no p45 or p60 will this mean we are more likely to be declined?

Any advice greatly appreciated as a ftb I am very stressed with the whole process!!

5 weeks and they've only just asked for that! You've got me worried now we applied last week and MA said it wouldn't be long for a decision.

Have you sent off for a new P45?

Unless there was no break in his employment, this should not have been placed with Leeds, which requires a minimum six months continuous employment. It sounds like they are making an exception, which is fortunate.
Employees: Applicants must be in permanent full or part-time employment and continuously employed for the last 6 months, including probationary period if appropriate.

Presumably, he provided his new employer with his P45 when he joined. Do they have a copy?

There was no break in employment he finished ine job on 31/3 an started the next 1/4. His new employer have produced a document with details on but lender gace not accepted the document and sent it back to underwriter. As he was made redundant after 13 years I think this may be why they have made an exception however im now worried as he has lost this p45!!

As a P45 has been issued. Then the old Company won't have issued a P60.

New employer should have the employers copy of the P45 on file.
  • The new company have given us details of the p45 but the lender doesnt seem to accept it, would we be able to request a p60 even though he has received a p45?
