Mortgage Approved, Guidance Needed

Thanks for taking the time to look at this thread, it is appreciated as my partner and I are getting quite confused about the process.
We had the offer provisionally accepted last week and then became dependant upon the valuation which has come out well above what we are paying. The survey (home buyers report) came out pretty good too, as such we have been approved the mortgage.
I know our solicitor has received the relevant information from the searches and confirmed the fixtures and fittings, however we are waiting on documents from the vendors in regards to boiler servicing. We have seen receipts from the vendor which indicated servicing provided by British Gas but obviously we want copies for our own record.
What we are getting confused and worked up over is whether or not we sign and send back acceptance straight away or do we wait?

You had an offer agreed, valuation carried out, mortgage offer granted and searches returned within a week?!
Do you want a job? I dont think I could get half of that done in a week!I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Apologies, let me clarify the timeline and what we are to sign;
Offer accepted just over 4 weeks ago.
Solicitor was already in place, we instructed the searches 3 weeks ago.
Mortgage application submitted 3 weeks ago.
Contacted by RBS 2.5 weeks ago, told everything was fine and we could go ahead with the valuation and survey.
Valuation and survey scheduled for Friday 25th July, report received 28th July.
Offer of mortgage received today.
It is all pretty quick but we have a friend that works for an estate agent and also has recently purchased their house so we just pestered her for a step by step explanation for most of the process and what we need. Unfortunately she is now away on holiday when the offer of mortgage letter lands.
It is the offer of the mortgage that we are unsure about, can/do we just sign it and send it straight back or should we wait? We are aware that our solicitor will have a copy which will no doubt have to sign also.0 -
The offer will go over to the solicitors.
They will tie up any last bits of red tape and then look for an exchange date.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
