Electronic Transfer Fee

Hi, so we have just received our completion statement for our remortgage :D but they have charged us an electronic fee transfer for sending the surplus money by cheque. When I've questioned them about this they've said it falls under electronic transfer, am I right in thinking it definitely doesn't?

BUT - there may well be a fee for sending the money to them (check your KFI)

Who is "they?" The solicitor handling the transaction?

Presumably the lender charged a fee for sending the money to the solicitor and this is accounted for in the completion statement by its removal from the funds before they were sent to the solicitor?

If so and this is a solicitor's charge for a service not provided, make a written complaint to the solicitor, explaining what you have been charged and why it is inappropriate.

If it is not mentioned on your original fee quotation, attached a copy to your letter and refer to it in your complaint.
