I have a 10 yr old Epsom printer and looking for a new one. I make cards so print lots of images, papers etc. My current model happily accepts compatable ink but I'm concerned many of the newer models only use branded inks. For me that would be too costlly so any advice would be welcome thanks

Identify the printers you most like the look of and then check on ebay, 7dayshop etc to see whether they sell ink cartridges specifically designated as compatible for the model(s) you are considering.
You are right to be wary - some of the newer printers used chipped cartridges to try and stop people using compatibles.0
