I been looking at the site https://www.greendealupgrade.co.uk/ as they offer a free Green Deal assessment (I'm interested in Solar PV)
Are they people approved by the gov scheme or just a front by the companies hoping to carry out the work. Can I just get the assessment and then decide to not take it any further. ?

Can't comment on the company but at first glance they appear to be a sales company working up leads to sell onto the actual PV installers. Try and find a local company to you thats been trading for a reasonable period of time under recommendation as opposed to filling a form in online.0

Yep, they appear to pass you details onto a green deal assessor as some kind of intermediary service:

I can also see no mention of the assessment being free?My PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.0
