New job & mortgage application

Hi,
I'm just looking for a bit of advice. I start my new job as a teacher in September( permanent position) and I was wondering how long I needed to have worked in my new job to be eligible for a mortgage? The Teachers building society will accept teachers straight away when they've started a new job but I doubt anywhere else would do this. The fees for a mortgage are nearly 2k which is why I'm hoping I'm eligible elsewhere.
Thanks in advance!

There are some lenders who will be happy with a contract of employment confirming the start date.

Speak to a broker, im sure there will be a few more options.

Are you looking for a 95% mortgage?

I'm just in the process of getting a mortgage through my broker using Platform Mortgages. I started my job in April and officially applied for the mortgage in June. They asked for employers references for my new job and also my last one. I've not had any gaps in employment and have stayed in a similar industry.

A broker can be really useful in this type of situation and you definitely have a chance of getting a mortgage now.

Thank you for your replies. Would my best option be looking for a whole of market broker? I am indeed looking for a 95% mortgage.

A whole of market broker will always give you the best range of products for your situation. The 95% might trip you up in combination with the job scenario. My mortgage was 80%.
