Default and delinquent

Hi all, I'm a new boy so please be gentle.
I have a question that I would appreciate you thoughts on.
I had a debt with First plus which they sold to Hillesden. Hillesden registered a default against me which has lapsed (over 6 years). I was fully expecting my credit score to improve but it didn't. When I looked into why it's because First plus have made the account I had with them delinquent. So,my questions are..... Can you have a delinquent account and a default on the same debt? And, if the default has expired how can the account be still delinquent ? Surely if the default has expired the delinquent account should have too as it came before the default!.......hope that makes sense.
Thanks all.

    Hi,
Do you still owe money on the account ?
After 6 years, assuming your not in Scotland, it should fall off your file, its unusual for an account to be marked "delinquent" usually a default suffices, assuming the 6 year period has expired, complain to the credit reference agency concerned to have it removed.

  • Hi,thanks for the response.
I am still paying the debt and I haven't missed a payment.
I have complained to experian but they say the information is owned by the company. I wanted to get my facts right before I wrote to Hillesden.
