Over 50's mortgage

Can anyone help!!
We desperately tying to get a mortgage, but because of my husbands age of 58 the repayments we have been offered have been through the roof! (I am 33) The cheapest has been £1200 a month on a house of 125k. With a 2 year old and bills on top of that we would struggle.
We both are on good wages and both of us are secure should anything happen to us work or death wise. We are trying everything and are even trying to draw down from my husbands pension which is proving difficult.
If anyone has any ideas or advice we would more than appreciate it as we at a loss at the minute.
