How to find out county court claim number

Hi,
Apologies if this should be posted elsewhere.
A creditor has filed a county court claim against me, unfortunately they still had my old address which is where the county court sent the forms to.
Fortunately my friend still lives there and forwarded them onto me, but a week later and they still haven't arrived despite been posted first class.
I have signed upto the moneyclaim website but it requires a claim number and password to access everything I need to see.
My friend did send me the password but not the claim number.
How would I be able to obtain the claim number? Who do I contact? I have contacted the creditor but unfortunately they are not forthcoming in providing this number.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

There are contact details (phone and email) on the MCOL site.

If there is a way to find out, they should know?
I might also point out to the claimant that you consider them refusing to give you the claim number as a deliberate attempt to obstruct you from dealing with the claim, perhaps so they can obtain a judgement by default, and that in the end when you are able to challenge it you will bring that obstruction to the attention of the court.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I think I'm right in saying that most of these issues are dealt with by Northampton court.
https://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/northampton-bulk-centre/ccbc/frequently-asked-questions
"I do not live in Northamptonshire, why is my claim issued there?
The Northampton Bulk Centre was established to deal with the administrative side of the debt recovery process, allowing local county courts to concentrate on other areas. If a hearing on the claim / judgment is needed, the case will be heard at a local county court. The Northampton Bulk Centre does not have these facilities."
You will need your case number. The easiest way to do this is by checking your credit report.
Noddle is free, experian and equifax charge a monthly subscription but are free to start with.
You can then ring them up on this number 0300 123 1056, quote your case number and they will either direct you to the appropriate court to contact or provide you with your creditors details and how much you owe.
I did this a short while ago. Easy peasy.0 -

It won't be on there or on the registry trust as no judgement has been obtained yet.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I read this as they have reached a judgement. My mistake.0 -
Well I could be reading it wrong, but as the forms were meant to have been forwarded a week ago, and they want the no. for MCOL, I assume it is still at the claim form stage and they want the password to acknowledge or submit a defence etc....Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Your credit file won't show the claim number until the judgement has been awarded - probably around a month after that date to allow time for the file to be updated.
So it won't help you at this time.
But it does sound like you are running out of time. This needs to be responded to within 14 days of service (19 days from issue date) and they are likely to get judgement in default as things stand.0 -

Could you not allege defective service?
CPR 6.9 (3): Where a claimant has reason to believe that the address of the defendant referred to in entries 1, 2 or 3 in the table in paragraph (2) (note: entry one is the applicable entry) is an address at which the defendant no longer resides or carries on business, the claimant must take reasonable steps to ascertain the address of the defendant’s current residence or place of business (‘current address’).
Then CPR 6.9 (4): Where, having taken the reasonable steps required by paragraph (3), the claimant –
(a) ascertains the defendant’s current address, the claim form must be served at that address...etc
If you notify or have notified the creditor of a change in address and provided them with an address where you will accept service, I cannot see how they could refuse to re-serve the documents. I'd write a letter referring them to the above provisions and reserving the right to bring it to the court's attention in the event that default judgment is applied for.
Just my 2 cents.0
