If you are thinking of sponsoring a child then please consider sponsoring them directly, where all your donations will be going to cover child's basic needs and their education.

You can create a great relationship with the children and the orphanage founders, find out what they need and get the first-hand information.

I've been involved in helping them but there's only this much one person can do. Direct sponsorship is not very popular, also it's not easy to get the addresses of the orphanages and that's why I want to share this address with you.

There are 191 children aged 5-13, their list of needs is long. They desperately need clothes, shoes and medical supply. Three children have recently passed away as a cause of Ebola virus.

Some additional information that I have received from the orphanage owner:
67 kids are currently in high school, but it will be sadden to say these kids will not be able to continue their schooling due to the fact that we could not be able to pay their tuition and other necessary school charges. And it will be frustrating to see these kids drop out of school prematurely.
We place these kids into foster care because we lack the financial will to take care of their daily needs. But life for these kids in the foster homes is life hell. It is really tough to explain.

there are millions of people, children and adults alike who need help, your talking about 191 ? these children you talk of live in one of the richest continents in the world, Africa. there president Ernest Bai Koroma lives in luxury and the country's biggest exports are gold and Diamonds.

while i believe in helping all who need it i also believe in helping those at home first because if we cant look after ourselves then we cant look after others.

yes there is an out break of Ebola a deadly disease, and its dangerous, it needs containing, but you've also got to ask why this has happened.

has their government cared enough to look after their own?
