I only enter competitions for things I'd like to win*,so I only do about 20 or so a day.
Can't recommend it though, I haven't won anything yet!

    *i-wotsits and holidays, mostly :)

I do think a lot of it is down to luck - I work full-time and I've got 5 kids so I don't have much spare time to comp. So I'm very selective and only do comps that are worth £100 or more and I never enter anything I wouldn't want to win. On a good day I enter 30 approx but on a bad day it can be less than 10. But I did win 3 long-haul holidays in 12 months! (Bahamas, South Africa and Cayman Islands).

I can go 6 months without winning a prize but I don't mind as I know I'll win something again one day in the future, and that's what keeps me entering :)

Those 5 kids could all be adults :D

My 5 kids aren't young and aren't adults - they're all teenagers which is even worse!! To be fair, they all chip in at home with chores etc, and my job is not that stressful (I'm sat at a desk all day) so I usually spend an hour at night multi-tasking - watching the soaps with the laptop on my knee entering comps. Then at the weekend I try to do another couple of hours comping here and there.

I know for a fact (as I used to see the entries) that the larger prize competitions in newspapers used to have fewer entries that the smaller, DVD-type ones. Presumably as people thought they'd have more chance of winning. However, with smart Alec's posting them all on here ;) that's no longer the case :(
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
