I can't comment on the financial ins and outs, but I do know that when it comes to breakups, "the best revenge is to live well". The sooner you get on with moving forward, the better, in my experience anyway.

Something to consider is that when you start a new relationship, many (and probably the majority) of women would prefer not to be staying in, or later on moving into a house you shared with an ex.
