Buying parents house

I went to get a mortgage a couple month back. And was accepted for just under 70 grand which was fine as mum and stepdad was giving me 10 grand for a deposit. But when I put my wife's name on it it took it down to 55 grand. So I was told come back in 30 days to try something different. So I returned what we did was put her down as a resident but unfortunately same thing again. So was wondering could I get her to change all her bank details and things to her mums house and take her off the electoral roll for this house aswell. As the house we are in is the house we want to buy.
