Time management, any advice?

Anyone has a method of manage time / assign time slots for something you never done before ?

I am starting a small part time online business but unfortunately I am not progressing much because of life being busy in general but I also feel I don’t manage my time well enough

I tried to assign each task of my business (affiliate marketing) a time slot, say 4 hours per task. But it’s something I have never done before so sometimes it takes me far longer to complete the task as I am learning along. I heard concept like “timeboxing”, which would be exactly what I need but I can’t seem to apply it because it’s a totally new area of work for me, as a result I am procrastinating too much

Any advice on how to achieve this?

Have you tried using a stopwatch/ timer/ alarm- to physically alert yourself to the time deadline? If you need the pressure this might help. But, if you work for yourself you are going to have to be very disciplined because there is no-one else to structure your time.

Bear in mind that whilst you are learning, things will take longer, so you will need to adjust your timings to accommodate the learning process. Try gradually shaving a few mins off.

You will need to be good at setting yourself goals. Look up the SMART system of goal-setting. I think this will really help you, as it gives you a time-frame to work to. Other than that, I would write out a physical timetable and/ or a daily checklist of tasks that need completing. Give yourself a sense of accomplishment by ticking them off.

Some people do better if they share office space (you can look into options on-line) or maybe just work at the library, get yourself out of the house, probably means you'll procrastinate less.

Also, don't forget to take regular breaks- you are a human, not a machine and that will help keep your focus.

iProcrastinate is something you could look at and they have apps on phones etc. too.

I'd look for anti-procrastination tools as they are likely to provide you with the input to get cracking on set tasks.

For iProcrastinate here is a review *FROM MY OWN WEBSITE*

    Would that help?
