Hello,
i have just been invited for an interview early next week for a job as a part-time admin assistant at a school.
I have been a SAHM for a couple of years and am ready to get back to work. I am nervous and really want the job as it would be ideal for my situation.
I am currently doing a course covering the microsoft office computer packages. Basically I've just been told that part of the interview will include an "intray" exercise. I have no idea what they mean by that.
i would really appreciate it if any one could give me some advice, pointers, advice of what that could involve.
Many thanks

Imagine you are at work. What arrives at your desk? - phone messages to pass on about pupils not attending today, your boss asking for papers for a meeting in the afternoon, a letter to go out to parents by the end of the week (today's Tuesday), a memo to staff about upcoming parents evening, data to be added to a spreadsheet about staff sickness absence, the printer's running out of toner, and so on. What would you do about the various things you are told about? What priority would you give to them?0

I agree with LittleVoice, and the thing to remember is that there is usually no 'one' right answer, so just take a deep breath and think how you'd prioritise things.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Hi LittleVoice and Savvy Sue, Just wanted to thank you for your replies.
i didn't get the admin job in the end, but got offered a job as a teaching assistant. I'm happy as it's a first step to getting back to work.
