For those who enjoy a nice fret.

Will Labour take the view that it's unfair that the non-rich avoid death taxes, so here's a new one that will hit them too? I'll bet it won't be in their next election manifesto.

Oh look, the Tories are bleating about how it's unfair. Remember, you can't expect something for nothing if you're on benefits, but it's somehow fine to get something for nothing when a relative dies.

Why would I fret, if I'm dead the money is no use to me any more?

Some people are on such good terms with their spouses and children that they would care.

So your plan is to abolish all inheritance, is it?

Surely the point about benefits is to get something for nothing?

Who is daft enough to fret about what's in the Daily Mail
The only thing that is constant is change.

would need to see the details and what exemptions would apply.

Around 1/2 million die each year and very few(3%) estates pay tax,

Only about 1/4million ever see probate/administration so taxing would become an admin nightmare if you want to do every estate.

A lot of the small estates are small because they are kids young people.

The other main reason for the bigger estates is the spouse exemption and transferable nil rate band.

if parents giving their children money is morally wrong why don't you think it should be made illegal?
