PDUK (PP1) - loan not taken out but repayments requested

I applied for a short term loan a few weeks ago. I was juggling debts and not coping. I was turned down for a few that sounded like good deals and offered a few really high interest ones - which i rejected.

I had one company ask me to take an £80 cash first payment to a pay point and they'd ring me back with details at a certain time! I didnt turn up at the designated time/place and the call handler actually shouted at me and told me that they had my bank details anyway! I declined their offer and said i'd changed my mind (and reported it to the fraud action line).

With this, i cancelled my card, realised what my situation was like and signed up with Payplan and am now going down the DMP route (and have changed my bank account).

However, last week i had a text from PDUK (PP1) saying my payment is due for £194.21 - i deleted it thinking that it was a junky text (i get millions). But today i had a text to say that my payment of £194.21 was not authorised. I've had no email or correspondence from them apart from this.

Someone phoned me about it and i told them that i never took out a loan. They are now 'investigating' and took all my details again. I've checked my bank and i've had no incoming payment from them at all! I'm a bit worried tbh.

Has anyone had experience like this?

Companies, like people, can make mistakes.

Inform your bank, and then wait and see what happens as a result of their investigation.

Thanks Gaz83. Fortunately, they havent taken any money out because i'd cancelled my card and any CPA's. It's the PDUK that are doing the investigation.

Last month i was also charged 2 lots of brokerage fees from a company for £70 each payment - again, no actual loan was taken and now i cant contact the company. I can ring my bank on the 3rd August to declare it as 'Services not rendered' and dispute it and hopefully get the money back.

I'm getting about 20 texts/calls a day by money lenders/payday loans etc. They dont let up until i tell them i've started a dmp.

If you haven't received any loan funds they cannot ask you for money back - ignore them.
