I bought a pack of mutton & Lamb. The price ticket said: £5.00 per Kilo. Pack price: £2.50. (thinks ..... pack MUST be 500 gms)
I then found out, including pack, it weighed (and said on it) weight : 400 grams.
Where's my meat, and also is this not illegal to price up, and sell incorrect weight?
Grrrrrrrr !!!!

There does seem to be an issue.
Tesco do sell a pack of Everyday Value Lamb & Mutton Mince. If you look on MSM it shows the pack weight as 400g; if you look on Tesco.com it shows the pack weight as 500g, even thought it then contradicts itself by quoting the unit price at £6.25 which is consistent with a 400g pack.

I'd guess that they've shrunk the pack size, and not worked through all the changes properly.
I'd take your complaint to Tesco.0 -
Claim back double the difference. You were charged £2.50 instead of £2.00 so ask for £1 back.0

Did the pack state 400g on it and the price was on the pack? If so there is nothing wrong, the price and weight are clearly marked on the pack, nothing illegal there.
If the weight on the pack is significantly different to the actual weight then its wrong but doesn't sound like you found that?
If the shelf edge label is for a 500g pack, but you found a 400g pack, then it is possible the pack or label were in the wrong places. Or they changed the pack size and then person doing labels hasn't caught up. An incorrect shelf edge label could be seen as misleading but if it is a genuine mistake it is not illegal.0 -
I have contacted Tesco, and they admit it IS wrong, but blame the supplier. I was also quoted the £6.25 price mentioned by ANBTROBUS. This is also incorrect! (Tesco price!).
They won't do anything until I fill out a form, next time I'm in, plus I have to bring all the packaging etc in also!0 -

The girl behind the counter couldn't divide £5.00 by 2 to get the £2.50 price ! (moan no. 1)
The shelves have been cleared of this item now!
When I went to fill out this RP 123 form, they wanted to take the meat off me! They said they could only pay what I'd paid in the reduced section. (obviously!)
Tonight was going to be Lasagne with this meat, so I wouldn't let go!
I said this was not the problem, Selling 400gms, but charging at the 500 gms price was the problem!
I saw the TV documentary about the big 4 Supermarkets, and why they loose money ..... not surprising after this fiasco.
It's not the first time the "MEGGA" family size was dearer than two small ones!
NOTE ...... Poundland are selling a 600gm bottle of Daddies sauce (£1 of course!) ... Tesco sell a 400gm bottle for £1.79.
The "FINISH" dishwasher tabs (10's) are in the 99p and £1 shops NOW! (Lots dearer in "normal" supermarkets!0
