I've been trying to fill in an expenses form today but I think I've messed up!!!

I need to calculate the cost and then fill in a vat amount... Now my question is how do I calculate the vat on an item that has vat added but not showing seperately..
I thought total cost -20% would give me the cost before vat and the calculated - bit would be the vat...
However I tried that method on a receipt that showed the total and the vat seperately and it didn't add up!!
    Confused.com....

    Any help appreciated :)

Divide what you paid by 1.2

As in 100% paid plus 20%vat

    Divide total price by 1.2

Divide the amount by 1.2 to get the cost of the item before VAT was added.

I had an email almost a week after entering my codes asking for my address and where I'd like the gift card for - I'm assuming that means I've won something, though it wasn't stated. Not exactly what I'd class as an instant win but :j all the same :rotfl:

Thank You abailey54, I will be checking my junk folder with more care then as that's where my vouchers keep going.

Do you mean the price tweets?

A few months ago it was £23.99 for the 16GB version.

Then it went up to £24.99 but that was for the 32GB version.
