Afternoon had lunch ,tablets taken so off for a little nap;) hoping I might feel a little better when I wake up ,enjoy your afternoon
Sorry you are under the weather, a tablet and sleep may be just the ticket
Good afternoon Elite :hello:
Nothing to report here, apart from the strange weather so far today. It was pelting down all morning then at 1.05pm out comes the sun and it's a scorcher
Happy Wednesday shopping Elite, I'm off for a backwards catchup :cool:There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

we get a different class of lurker on here :rotfl:
Indeed we do
So I saw mention of Airport Lounges earlier (last night maybe shortly before FC was upsetting people by not quoting them, what was that about?)
Anyway, some of you may remember yourvine (do instagram based tasks for free vodka). They appear to have some sort of campaign for airport lounges and stuff, although I haven't read the details in full this one looked like it had merit (assuming the challenges are fairly straighforward). 60 points gets you first class lounge access (maybe)
While on the subject, there may still be scope for some free voddie (a couple of miniatures anyway). Also, I haven't been lurking as thoroughly as I should so don't know if the free rum has been mentioned :cool:0 -
I'd go for a Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo or Peugeot 107. Brand new they can be bought for under 6K. Cheaper to insure than 5-10 year old Corsas, Fiestas, Clios etc.
Warranty for a few years too.
Free road tax.
I don't know much about this kind of thing, is the free road tax only as it would be a new car?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
I've often thought about this. My son is 15 and I was thinking how he could drive either my car or his own more cheaply when the time comes.

The ones that we have looked at include free road tax because of the low emissions ...a small number have road tax at £10-15 per year again because of the classification....so not just a one off deal offered by the dealer on a new car.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

 this is something I do need to look into as my laptop is so slow these days so I end up using kindle or ipad but I don't really like using them for typing because of predictive text  :rotfl::rotfl:zippydooda wrote: »I finally got rid of the virus I got on my lappy. windows defender (free) got rid of it on a full scan.
my lappy was getting very slow and freezing often. the virus was taking up 100% of the cpu so lappy could not cope.
now its gone and I deleted other things as well. the cpu usage is down between 3 & 28%
so when I surf the net now pages open very quickly, its like having a brand new lappy.
so if your lappy is slow look at your task manager. on windows 7 you can right click the task bar at the bottom or ctrl alt delete.
when open, click processes tab. the higher the cpu is the more work your lappy is doing thus it runs slowly.
by the way I am not in any way lappy savvy but I did not want to pay to get it sorted.
Something else to check out  zippy, As long as it's not too 'techy' speech wise I could try this.
I tend to leave things alone as I'm not a tetchy person , I don't even know what a CPU is:cool:
