I cooked today :j:j only burgers, but quite an achievement for me as I rarely ever cook, much to everyone's relief :o
DS2 made me giggle. Knowing that our house guest hasn't experienced my previous culinary disasters, used him as a guinea pig to test the food before he ate it himself

Must be the day for it FC, I had to cook breakfast for five this morning.

Mr TS has been worse for wear all day since last night pouring himself a rather large 15 year old whisky I got him for our anniversary and drinking it on top of a few beers. He is now fast asleep but unusually not snoring. :rotfl:

I got all hot and bothered trying to do bacon, egg, sausage, tomato and beans this morning. It is out of my comfort zone of heating up meals such as pizza etc. :o

Oh dear if my OH fell asleep without snoring I'd have to get a mirror under his nostrils.....just to check  :p :rotfl:
Oh there's no way I could cook that many items at once!! and I can't cook eggs, in any form......at all! :rotfl:

Thanks to whoever mentioned side of salmon from M. Think it was abailey ?
Got one today. Now just need ideas on how to cook the portions !

    Teriyaki Salmon:
2cm piece fresh root gnger, finely chopped
    2 chopped garlic cloves
    3 Tbsp soy sauce
    2 Tbsp maple syrup
1 Tbsp Mirin (rice wine) or Chinese cooking wine or dryish sherry
    olive oil
Salmon fillets (supposed to use 4 but DH likes the sauce so I use same amounts for 2 fillets )

Combine ginger, garlic, soy, maple syrup, Mirin and a dribble of oil in a bowl.
Pour over fillets in a dish, cover with clingfilm and put in fridge for 2 hours.
Heat drizzle of oil in pan, remove salmon from marinade and fry salmon for 2 minutes. Pour in reserved marinade and cook for a few minutes until salmon is opaque half way up. Turn salmon over nd cook for a few more minutes.
Plate salmon up, boil sauce briefly to reduce VERY slightly and pour over.

Easy to do and very nice especially with the M&S fillets - hope its as good with the Morries ones !
