NatWest won't match a competitors deal

Hi all, Our current deal with NatWest is expiring soon, and I rang to see what deals they had going. When I mentioned that their best deal was more expensive than another provider, I was told that they have to treat all customers whether new or existing the same, and in no way could they ever match a competitors deal. YOu need to add up all the costs to change lenders !
Exit fee to leave Natwest, remortgage costs to new lender, searches, survey, legals etc.
With the talk of BOE rate rises later this year or next ?
Maybe a good time to look at a 4/5 year fix if you are staying long term ?
The MMR can now make it difficult to get a mortgage and you may avoid this by sticking with Natwest and a simple phone call.
