How long would you expect a ftb mortgage offer to take to come through....

Options
Guess the title sort of sums my questions up .....
I have a ftb buying my house - she is arranging her mortgage through my estate agents mortgage broker. She obtained an AIP and the survey was completed on my property 3 weeks ago. The estate agent did confirm that the survey was fine , and she was just waiting for the offer to come through ??

Should I be concerned at the timescales or is this normal with a ftb ? I'm trying not to worry but my mortgage offer came through three days after the survey - although I am aware that my application was deemed to be 'fast tracked' and I didn't need to provide any additional info .

I have asked the estate agent to check with their mortgage broker that all is ok, but just thought I would ask the opinion of you good people , as can't always get a straight answer from the EA. Oh I do know that things are progressing from a conveyancing perspective as my buyer has been raising a couple of enquiries with my conveyancer .

Thanks in advance !!

Some lenders survey immediately on application - Some lenders survey as the very last item before offer (after full underwriting) .... and some, somewhere in the middle so that is no judge. Therefore the survey taking place has little real meaning (despite the significance allocated to it by estate agents - same as for DIPs).

If it was one of the former, then 3 weeks in the current environment is nothing to worry about.

Presumably your highly ethical estate agent's brokers response was he couldn't discuss his confidential dealings with his client (the purchaser) with the estate agent (and therefore you) ? :rotfl:
