it'll be a best before date which means it's safe but they may not be as tasty. Use by means it may be harnful to eat after that date.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I doubt if the gherkins know what the date is! ..... and I'll bet its a best before date and not a use by date. If they taste fine then they are fine... Enjoy! The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0

They're preserved. They'll be absolutely fine. I often eat things after their *expiry date*, and have lived to tell the tale. I think I've built up resistance, too. Can't remember when I last had food poisoning - years ago.

If they taste fine and were still sealed then I am sure 2 weeks makes no difference. It's more likely going to harm you if they had been open longer then the 'use within x weeks' date. I know this because my hubby had picallili which had been open in the fridge for a long time, tasted fine, but gave him dreadful stomach upset!IAAR/IAAMM/MFTMFAQ/IOA6BH0
