Hope this isn't viewed as being a bit killjoy, but could I just add that the RNLI relies solely on donations from the public and receives no government funding.

That said, the info in this pack could save lives at sea so enjoy

The same thought occurred to me. Please folks - by all means apply for this if it will be useful to you, but please don't get one just for the sake of it

It's part of a big campaign they are doing which includes an online game and events in shopping centres so I'm sure they've already sorted out the funding for it.
