How do you get sun cream out of a carpet please?!

So let's suppose that your small, lively child has scampered across the carpet while utterly covered in suncream. There are comedy footprints of the stuff across the living room.
How on earth would one go about cleaning it out of the carpet? (I have a difficult enough time getting it off white t shirts.)
All tips gratefully received.

They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

So, leaving aside completely the intrigue of how the child got suncream on the soles of his feet...
I would blot up as much as possible with tissue, then pour baking soda on to soak up some more, then brush that off after 5 - 10 minutes. Repeat until you're just left with the oily residual stain.
Use a mix of warm water and a little carpet shampoo or washing up liquid and dab/blot until the greasy bit has been eradicated.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.
