Not sure if this is the right bit, but here goes :
Been having trouble as late paying bills. Never paid the council tax from March, with £95 outstanding for the year 2013/2014.
Now scott and co sent a letter to say not only has last years £95 been sent to them, but the £1100 for this year too and that i must pay £150 per month. Having done an income/expenditure i can only afford £75 at best, but they say i must pay £150.
What should i do?

I read somewhere on here that if you miss monthly payments for the current year they can demand the lot in one go.
Maybe ask your local council why the company are asking for it all?:beer:0 -
Hi Mark
I assume that in addition to the missed payment for the 2013/14 bill, you've also been having difficulty meeting payments for 2014/15 since the new bill was issued in April? Hence Scott & Co collecting on the full £1100 for this year in addition to that other £95.
I would start paying the £75 per month you have offered regardless, as not doing so may just provoke Scott & Co into pursuing other methods of enforcement (they will probably refer to this as "diligence"). You may still be able to make offers direct to the council if diligence has yet to take place.
Our fact sheet on council tax recovery is essential reading for you, I would say:
