Hi Elizabeth,
On a eye primer note, have you tried revlon? It's about £3 on ebay (can't remember seeing it in the shops) and does an amazing job. I too have oily eyelids (why us!) and this keeps my eyeshadow in place allllllll day. I'll try and post a link but it's worth a go if you haven't tried it already.
I'm currently trying the urban decay one to mix it up but understand it is quite pricey...
Sorry to digress on your thread OP!

Wow, thank you everyone! You have all been so helpful. RachrubyD I have a list of your recommended products and i'm going on an internet shopping spree this eve, why not! Elizabeth Braun I like the idea of trying something totally different, I will be looking for those Japanese products. I too have chip pan eye lids
That's why usually I don't bother wearing eye shadow, that and the fact i'm rubbish at applying it!
I went through all my makeup last night. Needless to say I don't have much left now!! I even found an old Mary Quant eyeshadow from the days when I used to do ballet dancing and my Mum bought my makeup for the shows!! I figured that it was probably time to let go of that one :rotfl:Used to be on here, mainly on the wedding boards. Got married, forgot my details, back as a newbie! :T0 -
I love their natural mineral range, their blushers are so beautiful and look so natural. Their mineral primer, their lipsticks from the mineral and studio line, the make up brushes from the studio line are fab. The only thing that's not too good are the eye shadows and things from the essential line. Also, the colour charts are not accurate but there are so many youtube elf videos so you can see what colours look like on there. I echo Lisa Eldridge on youtube for make up advice., also Goss Make up artist, although he mostly uses high end things. Another online make I've just discovered that are cheap is NYX, their lipsticks are so lovely and very pigmented. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE

I wear Estee Lauder Doublewear too. Great product and as you say, ive found none better but I wish it wasn't so matt. I usually have to mix in a little Benefit High Beam to make it a little more wearable but thanks to RachRubyD, I shall be trying the Elf shimmering whip next. I'd rather pay £3 than almost £20!
.
You should try the doublewear light. I use to have dw normal and it was far to matte and slightly heavy, the light has a slightly more satin finish and more medium coverage than full. It still lasts all day. I got a sample from EL and I got about 5 full face applications out of it. Just went and got the EL Light the other day.0 -

The word 'light' scares me. Ive got a couple of age spots I like to hide. Still, it wouldn't hurt to try it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi I bought the MUA cream Blush in....I can't remember but I decided I don't like any cream blushes so I tried to use it as other options for example a lipstick and decided to see how it would look on my eyes and guess what? its the perfect eye primer for any eyeshadow...It makes my eyeshadow last ALL day. I've seen a lot of makeup users on YOUTUBE do this and it works well.0

I love love love The Body Shop 'all-in-one cheek colour' as a blush. It's a solid/compact powder blush, so if you don't like that sort of thing then probably not for you!
Also very fond of BeneFit "Thrrob" which is a loose powder blush and comes with its own brush (although I found the brush too unweildy myself)
If you're looking for a new BB cream, Body Shop have a Tea Tree one which I will swear by forever. Lighter than other BB creams (although not quite tinted-moisturiser) territory. Works as an under-everything-else primer very well with bonus blemish reduction. Or, if you're like me and don't wear much foundation, a lick of that with some powder will do you just fine. Providing you don't mind your face kinda smelling of tea tree.Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100
