Help CSA and Lodger

Hi
My wife’s ex doesn’t pay a penny in child support yet he swans about in designer clothes drives a flash car, nice house etc. etc. He is jealous that I have his ex-wife and their son lives with the wife and me. However he doesn’t work and is currently studying to be a self-employed accountant. The questions I have is this. He has a lodger that lives with him and his new wife and other son. The lodger pays them a set figure (I don’t know what that is). Can we go to CSA with this information and claim as they have an income from the lodge? He loves the fact that he doesn't pay a penny and has all this stuff. My wife and I work full time and just about survive on the money we bring in. I love my step son and treat him as my own as I don’t know no other way and when he does grow up he will find out for himself what his dad is like. His dad only sees him one a fortnight Saturday to Sunday at most.
Any help in this whether we can claim or not would be brilliant
Thank you in advance.

It more reads that you are jealous, he's done the crime, you are doing the time. I don't think income from a lodger is counted for assesment. Once the NRP has qualified and earning, thn you can seek some contribution.0

as she is your wife i presume you've been together a while, and if you've been together a while you know whats he is like. how do you know he is jealous of you being with his ex wife? they are exes for a reason. i agree he may have greivences because you are with his son more than him, but i doubt he can help that. i dare say he probably wants more time with him but its probably stopped, if he doesnt work it makes no difference what the lodger pays, its what he earns that makes csa payable, if he is a student he pays nothing or a minimum payment of £5. what are you going to tell his step son what his dad is like? be careful, he is his father whether you like it or not0
