Hi, I have just complained to Tesco Customer services re Grapefruit I purchased on Saturday last.
"
A COMPLAINT
Hi, Purchased the Grapefruit at Tesco St Peters Worcester on Saturday last. The pink grapefruit part number: 03228340. As you can see from the pictures it is certainly not merchantable quality – there was only 4 teaspoon full of fruit available the rest was pith. This is the second time I have complained about poor quality fruit on sale at Tesco’s clearly nothing has been done about this. I do understand that Tesco are not directly to blame but your suppliers are!! and in effect the ‘power’ of Tesco could be unleashed to stop this happening.
I do hope Tesco will do something about this – THIS TIME."
How can I be sure they will take note this time.
Mike. (how do you include photos on this forum?)

Sounds to me like a good thing - non-standard and variableness is to be encouraged. Occasionally you are hit with a poor item - take it back and get your money back.0

What do you want Tesco to do, insist the supplier cuts each fruit in half to check the contents, or inst the supplier has a word with the trees and command them to grow better fruit?
I think some people really over estimate the power of Tesco.0 -
Is it April 1st ?0

Personally I would argue getting good quality Fruit & Veg from Tesco (or any other Supermarket) is more noteworthy.0

its like morrisons..i dont rate their fruit at all...rather go to lidl! half the price and twice the quality!
:rotfl::rotfl::T:Tim tray not davey...pinched my hubbys account!!!
I must stop buying smellies..well until i spot a bargain!
never turn a bargain /freebie down you just never know when you need it0 -
I'm sure that your letter of complaint raised the spirits and gave a smile to those in the Tesco customer services department at head office.
In fairness to Tesco they have a no quibble returns policy so providing you haven't boycotted them, if you do buy another pithy grapefruit you can take it back for a full refund or replacement.0 -
I stopped shopping from Tesco over four years ago, mainly because their fruit & veg were of very poor quality.More0

Poor quality fruit and veg from most of the supermarkets seems a recurring theme these days.0

I try to use my local greengrocer who may be slightly more expensive but at least there is little waste He also does some good reductions on a Monday morning for odd shaped carrots etc ,great in soups
:) He will also cut large cabbages in half and cling film them As I live alone a large cabbage last too lang whereas a half a one is just right for me.
Lots of pensioners appreciate this service as it helps to streeetch our ' huge state ' pensions a bit:):):)

Can't wait to see the snap of the pithy grapefruit btw. Is it half as pithy as your wit, OPValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
