transferring in other pension to nhs 1995 scheme

I have five years to retire at 60 in the nhs scheme. I have a small protected boots pension and small private pension frozen. Is it worth looking at transferring their value into the NHS scheme to improve more benefits? Any one else benefited by doing this?

    I don't think it's a simple case of yes or no. What might benefit one may be beneficial for you. Pensions are not the same as transferring between savings accounts.


    The previous pensions you have accrued have different benefits and features. You would need to compare them with your NHS one.
    Stephen Covey once said that "when you teach once, you learn twice". That is the primary reason for my participation on the forums as an IFA.

    Although I strive to provide accurate information in my posts, there may be the odd time when I fail. Yes I know it's hard to believe but even Your Hero can make mistakes. Apologies in advance.

    NHS pension only accepts transfers in during the first 12 months of joining the scheme.
