Bye Bye Motor Car

so two weeks in, had telephone OR interviews and the good news is I only have a 'tax' IPA and OH hasn't got one at all. Still worried about the ex (whose actually in prison at the moment) if they start investigating the 'other' house but guess the die is cast now.
Not so great news is I can keep my car (fibro, unsocial hours) but OH not his. we thought it worth about £1000 and could possibly have got a relative to 'buy' it for that, but they said no £2500 and that was too much to raise. Good luck with getting £2500 for a pretty scuffed and scruffy 07 Peagueot with 130000 miles on the clock but hey ho. So tomorrow morning the imaginatively named CarTakeBack are collecting it. so it goes.
Anyway thats my update. How goes the day with you?

Its a shame but it's probably best to let it go rather than spend £2500 quid on a 7 year old high mileage car that could go kaput next week! Isn't cartakeback the scrapping service? It seems a bit ridiculous that they refused your offer if they are only going to scrap it for a couple of hundred!
I hope things start looking up for you soon,

I guess it's not so much the value of the car itself but the running costs. If your OH doesn't have much income then the cost of tax, insurance, MOT and petrol etc would have had to come from somewhere?0

running costs pretty low really its one of those where the tax is about 50p, unlike mine! and we put running costs for both in the SOA which they havent queried, so whatever. Tis a shame. no idea if theyre planning to scrap it i wouldnt have thought so, can't see them getting two and a half grand either though. just have to get on with it. will just take a bit more planning life with only one car. how spoilt does that sound?0
