Decent furniture?

Does anywhere in the world sell decent furniture any more? Not veneer, actual solid wood, but without some of the weird detailing you seem to get in most shops (Dining table with roman columns for legs? Really?!)
Based in Reading, any advice would be appreciated

I did see a few on eBay when I was looking for a fireplace and a few did also sell some Oak furniture.
Furniture does not really describe what you are looking for so it's difficult for anyone to know what you are looking for. Some independents will only make certain items and those can make Oak furniture much more affordable.0 -
Plenty. Look at the British Furniture Manufacturers website for some ideas.
Corndell do a plain solid oak range.
