Living Social - Village health, change of terms

I purchased a Living Social deal, 10 day passes to the local Village Health and Leisure, but on arrival was told 'Oh no, we've changed the terms, see the fine print, you can't use this as you had a similar deal last year'. It seems that you now can't use these if your name is on their system, anything from attending an Open Day to being a previous fully paid up member. As the Village runs lots of promotions, including the current "summer of fitness'' deal, I was surprised - the girl at the desk said 'Yes, lots of people have been caught out by this'. Have asked Living Social for a refund, but would have preferred this change of terms to be spelled out before buying.
