Hi everyone, can you tell me how to go about looking at our credit reports and what we are looking for? Which would lenders look at? I haven't ever done it as I was worried it would affect my score, is that right?
Thanks in advance!

Equifax, Experian and call credit.
The call credit report can be obtained for free from noddle.co.uk
forget the score on it, your going to the latter pages with hopefully loads of green marks everywhere and not so many amber or red marks.
Different lenders use different reports and some use more than 1.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. My late Grandmother always said count the pennies and the pounds look after themselves.

Thanks very much ACG!
Thrugelmir, my username isn't really about the pennies but more money in general. My granny always said family makes you rich not money. But I agree with your granny alsosensible grandparents we have!

ACG, does looking at these affect your score? I know you say that isn't the important thing but still concerns me? Should I look at all of these reports? Will that not make me score low or are they all separate? Sorry this is why I haven't ever done it as I'm too unsure!0

You looking at your score does no damage at all.
The score on your report is the score the credit agency gives you, not the score the lender gives you.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. If you obtain credit files from all 3 sources, do not be surprised if the information does not match. This is common, and is one of the 'holes' in the system.I am a Mortgage Broker
