does your email address make any difference?

Hi all, I'm new to the site and loving it so far, I have searched but couldn't find an answer - I set up an email address for my comps bevscomps@xxxxxx my question is do you think promoters will see that it's a comping email address and overlook me? Should I set up a different account?

Thanks in advance!

It should not make a jot of difference but why risk it.

Just set up a gmail address that is gender & location neutral.Plus I would advise not have your name as part of it.

I have one that is OK at winning & makes no mention of comps :-)

When I first started comping I had an email which had 'competitions' in it plus my year of birth. I then thought like the OP that it might go against me and changed it after a little while to something more neutral as weeowens suggests.

However, I'm not sure it made any difference as I have won under both emails and in fact for some sites I can't change the email address so have had to leave it as the original one.

One suggestion though, keep it as short as possible as you will be typing it a lot, even if you use form fillers like Roboform (which I use) etc :D
