Well - bit of a turn up for the books...Used a popular comparison website and even with the monthly payment option selected I was not asked anywhere if I had "ever been bankrupt"
...and then - there was no quote offered cheaper than my renewal quote!! well there's a first!
I double checked everything was included that was included on my previous cover but no - renewal with my current insurer is £40 cheaper...

I am sure that if you actually chose a quote from the compare site that when you clicked through and went to the insurer that one of the questions would have been about if you had ever been BR and you quote will have changed.0 -
Hi - yes - you are probably right but last year when I carried out this process - the "ever been BR" question came up before you even got a quote. Its not much - but it's a little bit of progress for those of us who are BR and - given that I pay in full for the year and don't ask for instalments, it gives me a much greater choice and better prices. Having been forced to pay up front last year, I've managed though saving in my Credit Union account to save the money to pay in full again. Its one less DD to worry about and I don't have to pay interest on what is effectively a credit agreement.
I'm still surprised the renewal quote from my existing insurer is the cheapest quote I got though - that goes against all conventional wisdom and advice here on MSE0
