How should I handle this situation at work?

I think you're far too nice.
I would let a screech as soon as he started interfering.
Something like 'Seriously, are you at it again? After all I've said? Take a hike'.
In full hearing of everyone around.
He sounds like he's trying to undermine you and big himself up. I wouldn't stand for it.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Possibly keyser, were both in the same boat(Im 56 and he,s 52)but he has to understand though that I also want to prove my worth so they will keep me on too.The last time I was in work I was so angry with him especially when he said he didn't know why he does it.
I just hope he will keep away from me when I go into work on Monday, maybe he,s had a good think about it over the weekend,
Thanks for your input keyser0 -
My initial reaction was that he fancies you - not sure why you think you being taller than him would preclude that.
However if you're sure that's not the case then I'm going for small man syndrome and he's doing it on you because you're the other comparative newbie so it's easier than taking over from a more established team member.
No elsien Im certain its not that he fancies me like that. The height thing?? I just couldn't be in a relationship with a man who is 8 inches smaller than me,my fella is 6ft 3 and been with him many years so Im used to being with a man who is taller than me,its just my choice but thankfully others think differently.
Im keeping my fingers crossed that Monday will be an ok day.0 -

I don't think its the fact Im too nice splish-splash,I guess Im worried being on probation and not wanting to rock the boat even though its him that's doing the rocking.
I think you have hit the nail on the head with your comment about undermining me and bigging himself up,if that's the case then hes a silly man because were not fighting for one job between us or anything like that, weve both got jobs once we get through the probation time.0
