QED = Quid Each Day.
I am looking for ideas to save a Quid Each Day.
I recently worked for a company that was really strapped for cash.
They asked members of staff to come up with a QED idea - how to save a quid each day.
I am now strapped for cash myself and am looking for ideas of how to save a Quid Each Day. I intend to put the QED saved towards paying off my debts.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Walk part of your journey to work instead of getting the bus / using the car.
Don't get coffee from a shop, take a flask
Take in a packed lunch.
Don't buy a paper - read it online instead.MFIT No. 810 -
Turn all lights off, don't use tumble dryer, don't leave things on stand by and if you're on a water meter be more careful with water usage and also I think you can get something to put in the toilet cisterns to reduce the amount of water the toilet uses to flush.0

Hi
You can just put a normal housebrick, or part of one in your cistern which works fine too
You could menu plan for the week, including snacks and lunches - this should save you a lot. Use MSE to check you're getting the best deal for all your utilities, insurances etc.
Post your Statement of Affairs on here (see sticky post at the top of the board) and I'm sure we could come up with more suggestions! How about Ebaying anything you no longer want?

Sign up to online surveys. I definatley make an extra QED from these, as sometimes I get them for 75p, sometimes 1.50 sometimes 4.00
Chevalier will confirm - but Im fairly sure you can make QED from clickthrough sites. If you find the 1000 in 2months challenge Ive posted up some quidco stuff that will certainly supercede a QED.
( so this is making, not saving tho) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I have just checked my phone bills again and have found out I paya £1 for a paper bill. Changed that today , so thats todays £1
This week , I am so strapped for cash (£8 to last me until 26th) that I am taking packed lunches and bottles of drink to work.
In general though , I dont buy newspapers anymore , I would rather spend 50p ona book in a charity shop that will last me a couple of weeks , and we have a book swap club at work so its rare I buy one.0 -
if you drink anything like Diet Coke - stop. I was spending over £20 a month and I've stopped and swapped to squash.

Hi Lynz
Yes if you are disciplined you can make at least £1 a day doing click throughs. And that is just via quidco, mutualpoints, and greasypalm. I think there are a couple more - free fivers comes to mind, which also do click throughs. And then there are the survey sites.
lots of ways to save

This is exactly what i have done in the last week. A bottle of Squash was £2.59 at Tesco and I have used about a 1/4 of the bottle. I have a 1.5 litre bottle and fill it up every evening and put in fridge. Reckon i will save 10 quid a week doing this/ I used to buy lots of coffees and drinks . My problem , is workign at remote sites , I dont have a kettle.0 -
Lots of good suggestions - thank you.
I am going to ditch the diet coke habit and use squash instead.
I will also check out the quidco clickthroughs.
My workplace is a thirty minute walk from home - I will now walk instead of taking the bus.0 -
Maybe not one for the summer months (
) (and I hardly dare post this given that SS might be about...) but sick of spending too much money on tights which ladder and then you have to throw them away, I've switched to stockings. When they ladder you only have to throw one of them away (or use in an OS style for bank robbery or bagging onions or something).
