Won tickets last week for the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy in Leicester square.
Travelled 150 miles with my partner to enjoy the experience, as we had been to a premiere a few years ago we were very excited to be close to the stars.
we had to go into the cinema before the main stars arrived and were ushered to a small side screen (screen 2) with no live feed playing showing the stars arriving.
We stared at a blank screen for 1 hour and everyone in the cinema had a puzzled look as this was not what anyone was expecting!! a man from the cinema arrived and told us that the film was now going to be shown and hope we enjoy it!!!! the film started and people began to walk out. A lot of people dressed up for the occasion in their best clothes and were horrified that we were not in the same screening as the stars of the film (who were in the IMAX screen), even worse we didn't even see any of the stars arriving for the premiere and could of watched the film next week on a much larger screen in my local town. A big let down and a warning for anyone who wins tickets for a big premiere !!!!!!

Oh no, that's not good. Have you contacted to the company that ran the competition to let them know as they may not know what happened. Worth a try at least...
Fingers crossed your next win is much better0 -
That's shocking!
On a similar note, I won tickets to a film premiere a few years ago & was surprised when the Hollywood star in question shuffled in, stood in front of the screen for no more than 5 minutes with her hand covering her face so no-one could see her, whilst the director did a little speech (she didn't say a word), and then they left the stage & disappeared before the opening titles had even started! But at least we were in the same room as them for 5 minutes I guess!Best 2013 win - £2k trip to China!

Also we could not collect the tickets until 5pm the day of the premierer so already made the journey.0

It's really bad that you weren't warned before you made the decision to travel all that way - did the competition people have an idea of where you live? It would have been common courtesy to mention the set-up to you, if they were aware!Best 2013 win - £2k trip to China!

The last premiere I went to was in the Odeon in Leicester square and that was fab - the stars stood on the stage talked for a while than left but was a great atmosphere, also they showed a live link to the red carpet so you could see all the stars arriving - Last nights was at the Empire cinema in Leicester square and in the small screen they did not show any feed not even when the stars stood in front of the large imax screen and talked about the film. I have seen pictures of the premiere which looked amazing but being stuck in a small screening with nothing to do but stare at a blank screen for an hour was not many peoples idea of going to a movie premiere. I didn't feel lucky in winning the tickets and put a sour taste for the film (The film was really good on a positive note)
Just wanted to warn people that if they win tickets they might only be in another screening of the film and not see any the film stars.0 -
Just had a reply back from Empire cinema telling me that it was Disney who organised the premiere and that there was actually 3 screens being used for the premiere and I should take it up with Disney (here goes nothing

I think it's just incredibly disrespectful to 'normal' people attending the premiere... Stars and celebs get to attend them all the time, and those lucky enough to win tickets should get to experience a bit of the pizazz and glamour... Sorry it was a let down0
