I have been going through my credit reports and see a lot of my defaults have been registered a lot later than ICO guidelines say they should be, eg after 6 months,
Can someone point me in the direction of what i should do to try and get this sorted, letter templates etc

No templates for this.
Write, complain, ask them to correct the date as per the guidelines.
If the refuse, refer to FOS.

I have a similar concern where I have been on a DMP for 4 years. One of the debts has been sold and the collection agency has now registered the default0

Now seeing the same problem. Trying to get a mortgage but Argos defaulted me 18 months after my first arrears which I never recovered from and ended up on a self payment plan. Now because it isn't in line with the rest of my defaults over 2 years ago I am stuck not being able to get a new mortgage! Frustrating.
So the answer is to write to Argos first and then if they refuse go the ombudsman route? The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.0 -
